Rosa McAllister-McRae has been taking college courses in one fashion or the other since the early 80s. She studied drama at Kingsboro Community College in Brooklin, NY and after coming back to Raeford to assist an ailing parent, she studied at Sandhills and went on to earn a BS in Psychology from Fayetteville State University. She received a master’s in Counseling from Webster University and an Education Specialist Degree from Wingate University.
Rosa has worked at the college for over 23 years. “The best thing about working at Sandhills is being able to help students achieve their goals,” she said.
Rosa works at the Pinehurst campus and the Hoke Center in Raeford. She assists new students as an advisor, helps them apply for financial aid, offers personal counseling, helps students navigate the transfer process and works with international students.
Rosa and her husband have two children and two grandchildren. She serves on the Hoke County Board of Education.
