Health Care Occupations
A “Medical Administrative Assistant” is a valuable member of the healthcare team who can handle a broad range of duties, including patient registration, telephone, scheduling, medical records, accounts receivable, data entry, and medical claims. Upon completion, you will be prepared for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) national certification exam offered by National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
“Medical Administrative Assistant” will be held on Mondays and Wednesday, July 9-Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $250 plus the cost of texts.
“Medication Administration Aide” meets training requirements for the NC Board of Nursing Medication Aide Certification. The training prepares Nurse Aides to administer medications to skilled nursing facility residents. Course topics include scope of duties, legal and ethical responsibilities, administration of medications by various routes, infection control and documentation including commonly used abbreviations. Hospitality and Food Service
“ServSafe® Food Safety and Sanitation” will teach you the basics of food handling safety and facility sanitation requirements. This course is recommended for all food service facilities, including supervisory personnel, culinary professionals, and food service staff.
“ServSafe® Food Safety and Sanitation” will be held July 9, 10, 16 and 17 from 5:30-9 p.m. The cost is $75 plus the cost of the text.
Successful completion of the “Auto Safety Inspection” course will certify students to inspect motor vehicles under the NC Motor Vehicles Safety Inspection Law. Must have a valid driver’s license.
“Auto Safety Inspection” will be held July 9 and 10 from 6-10 p.m. The cost is $75.
Successful completion of the “OBD Emissions Control Inspection” course will certify students to inspect motor vehicles under the NC Motor Vehicles OBD Emissions Control Inspection Law. Students must be Certified in Auto Safety Inspection. This is also the Recertification class.
“OBD Emissions Control Inspection” will be held July 11 and 12 from 6-10 p.m. The cost is $75.

The Sandhills Community College Continuing Education team can customize courses to meet the specific needs of a business or industry, provide resources to assist in developing new training initiatives or to maintain and support current efforts. Courses can be held at convenient times for you and your staff at any SCC location, your business, or other convenient locations.
