For the first time since 2011, Pell Grant monies will be available to pay for summer semester. If you were enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) in both the fall and spring semesters and received the Pell Grant, you will probably be eligible to receive the Pell Grant to attend SCC this summer. You will have to take at least six credit hours required for your program of study to use the additional summer Pell award.
If you were not enrolled full-time during fall or spring semesters, you may still be eligible. We will automatically evaluate your eligibility and contact you through your WebAdvisor account.
Full-time summer enrollment is 12 or more credit hours for financial aid purposes. This does not mean that you must enroll in 12-credit hours to receive financial aid. Many students enroll in fewer than 12-credit hours and receive a prorated Pell award.
The SCC Financial Aid Office will evaluate your eligibility and inform you of allocation via your WebAdvisor account by mid-April.
Because Sandhills has extremely generous supporters, we are able to help even more students than the typical community college. If you do not qualify for a Pell Grant, we have funds set aside to assist with summer tuition costs. This assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis to students who are in good academic standing. Please bring your summer schedule to the front desk in the Financial Aid Office (Stone Hall, 127) as soon as you register.
