A career in manufacturing pays well, and you can be trained in only a few months at the Sandhills Hoke Center in Raeford. A Certified Production Technician (CPT) uses technologies to set up, test and adjust manufacturing machinery and equipment.
The manufacturing industry is rapidly growing in our area, and the demand for those trained in as a CPT is growing as well. The industry is higher tech than ever before, and we have the instructional machinery and highly-trained and experienced instructors that can prepare you to be a valuable employee in local industries.
We will prepare you to take the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) certification exams. Our program is endorsed as quality training programs for potential entry-level employment by Unilever HPC in Raeford and Coty, Inc. in Sanford.
Our CPT Quality class will be offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 pm from October 9 until November 29. This class focuses on quality requirements in advanced manufacturing. Topics include internal quality audit activities, calibration of gages and other data collection equipment, materials inspection, documentation and communication of quality tests, fundamental blueprint reading, precision measurement tools, and systems. The cost of the class is $75 plus the MSSC certification fee and the cost of the textbook.
The CPT Technician Manufacturing Process & Production class begins on December 4 and runs through February 5. It will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 until 9 pm. This class focuses on quality requirements in advanced manufacturing. Topics will include identifying customer needs, determining resources available for the production process, equipment set-up for the production process, coordinating workflow with team members and other work groups, communicating production and material requirements and product specifications, product and process compliance with customer requirements, preparation of final product for shipping or distribution. The cost of the class is $75 plus the MSSC certification fee and the cost of the textbook.
