Mary Ellen Cravotta hails from Richmond, Virginia.  After a 30-year stint of working for the Department of Defense Education Activity in Europe,

Mary Ellen relocated to Pinehurst 11 years ago. For 37 of her 43 years as an educator, she ran Library Information and Technology Centers in schools both in Department of Defense Schools in Germany and in 21st Century on Ft. Bragg.

Students and faculty here will benefit from the fact that Ms. Cravotta taught a variety of graduate university classes on various aspects of 21st Century Skills, Information Literacy and Use of Databases and other Technologies.

 

The recipient of the 2014 Reading is Fundamental National Literacy Award, Mary Ellen enjoys travel, reading (that’s a relief!), and cooking. A welcome “M.E.!” coffee break will be held in the Wood Reading Room in late August.
