Non-traditional SCC graduate Cristi Ryan took advantage of the gift the college offered to all graduates. The week after commencement Cristi attended a Working Smart class. The class was offered to help grads learn critical, work-related interpersonal skills and to increase the probability of success in the workplace. Participants learned useful work and practical life skills allowing them to stand out from the crowd, secure a competitive edge when seeking a job, and enhance productivity and the chance of job promotion and career advancement. “The class was a great refresher on basic social skills we all need in the workplace,” Cristi said. Cristi graduated in May with an Associate in Arts and had a 4.0 GPA. She plans to continue her education and earn a bachelor’s with a major in Mathematics.
