Orientations for New High School Students Participating in the Career and College Promise Program

Sandhills Community College is hosting three orientations in partnership with Moore County Schools for high school students taking college courses through the Career and College Promise (CCP) Program. New students should plan on attending one of the orientations. Parents are also welcome. In addition to Sandhills staff member, Ms. Phyllis Dowdy, the Moore County Schools CCP counselors, Mr. Joshua Newton and Ms. Stacy Patterson will present information important to both students and parents. Logistical questions such as those about transportation, parking, and textbooks will be answered. Representatives of the college administration will highlight the differences between taking high school courses and college courses including differences in the calendars and attendance policies. For example, college classes start August 14. There will be a question & answer period following the presentations and campus tours will be available.

Sandhills Community College faculty, staff, and administration are looking forward to the start of the 2017-2018 school year. We hope you are too!
