Microsoft Office Fast Courses
“Microsoft Office Fast Courses: Excel 2016 Levels 1, 2 & 3” is a new course designed to teach students, spreadsheet creation, formatting, moving and copying data, charts and images, advanced formatting working with tables, financial functions, pivot tables, and macros. A flash drive 8GB or larger is required.
“Microsoft Office Fast Courses: Excel 2016 Levels 1, 2 & 3” will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays Aug. 22 – Sept. 7. There are two different time options offered, 1 – 4 p.m. or 5 – 8 p.m. The cost is $75 plus the cost of text.
Windows Operating System
“Windows 10 Level 1” covers how to navigate and use the new Windows 10 operating system. Topics include using Windows applications, computer terminology, how to use the Start Menu, and how to create, save, format, locate and print files. Students should have upgraded to Windows 10 or have a new computer with this operating system. A flash drive 8GB or larger is required.
“Windows 10 Level 1” will be held Aug. 17 – Oct. 2 on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 – 11 a.m. The cost is $75.
In “OS X Sierra Level 1” students will learn, understand and control the operating system of the Apple Macintosh computer including numerous built-in applications, called apps. Learn to manage the filing system for organizing and finding computer generated folders and files. A flash drive 8 GB or larger is required.
Apple Macintosh System and iPad
“OS X Sierra Level 1” will be held Aug. 21 – Oct. 2 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 – 3 p.m. The cost is $75.
“iPad Basics” will teach the core concepts of using the iPad’s Operating System. Students will learn how to use the Settings App, the importance of the Passcode and Apple ID, how to update, how to use the virtual keyboard and Siri, and detailed lessons on the Communication apps (Contacts, Mail, Messages, and FaceTime), the Safari app for internet searches; and as time permits, limited lessons on apps such as, Notes, Calendar, Camera, and Photo. Student must bring an iPad or iPhone.
“iPad Basics” will be held Aug. 21 – Oct. 2 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – Noon. The cost is $75.
Computer Security, Upgrade, and Repair
“Malware Eradication” will teach students how to identify malware, remove and delete it, and recover the operating system to working condition. If the system has become too damaged to repair due to malware, learn how to reinstall the operating system and programs and how to put back your files and import them into your programs. Space is limited; register early.
“Malware Eradication” will be held Aug. 28 – Sept. 25 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost is $75.
“Computer Upgrade and Repair” covers concepts of repair service, and upgrade of computers and
peripherals in preparation for industry certification. Topics may include resolving resource conflicts and system bus specifications, configuration and troubleshooting peripherals, operating system configuration, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to identify and resolve system conflicts and optimize system performance.
“Computer Upgrade and Repair” will be held on Wednesdays, Aug. 14 – Dec. 12 from 6 – 10:40 p.m. The cost is $185.
“Gmail and Google” will teach students how to get more out of Google searches, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, G+, Hangouts, Maps, and more. The prerequisite for this class is a good working knowledge of using the Internet.
“Gmail and Google” will be held on Tuesdays, Aug. 22 – Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. – Noon. The cost is $75.
“Photo Editing Using Photoshop Elements 14 Level 1” students will learn what’s new in Elements 14, including how to create catalogs and albums, how to import and organize photos, do basic editing in the Organizer, as well as how to use the Editor’s Quick and Guided modes. Learning the basics of layers, layer mask, blends, effects, and text will open up a whole new world of image editing. Images will be provided. A flash drive 8GB or larger is required. The prerequisite for this class is a good working knowledge of computers, using a mouse or pen tablet, and file management.
“Photo Editing Using Photoshop Elements 14 Level 1” will be held Aug. 21 – Oct. 2 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 – 3 p.m. The cost is $75.
