Jeremy Beal had big shoes to fill after becoming Fleet Mechanic for SCC when Lee Short retired this year. But as one who welcomes challenges and having over 30 years of mechanical experience working on cars and small engines, Jeremy quickly filled the role, all while maintaining his previous position as Facility Locksmith.
After graduating from Lee Senior High in Sanford, Jeremy worked in parts sales for 20 years and then worked for five years at the Caterpillar plant. He has worked at Sandhills for almost eight years.
Jeremy is not shy about his appreciation for the college and his coworkers. “The people are one of the main reasons Sandhills is one of the best places I have ever worked. Dr. Dempsey is one of the finest bosses; he has done so much for the college and the people who work here.”
After work or on weekends Jeremy enjoys gardening, fishing, and hunting.
