Chad followed his dad and granddad’s footsteps and became a firefighter 18 years ago, fresh out of high school. In 2012, he pitched the idea to start a fire academy at SCC, and has been helping to train the next generation of heroes ever since. Meanwhile, he’s saving lives as a full-time firefighter in Cary. No big deal.
“I think it’s the greatest job in the world,” Chad says. “It never seems like work.”
