In a world that is continuously shrinking and requiring increasing interaction with the global community, Sandhills Community College is pleased to announce its participation in NC Global Distinction; an initiative between North Carolina community colleges and UNC-Chapel Hill. This initiative is developing a state model of best practices for internationalizing the curriculum and campus programs. At Sandhills Community College the initiative will be known as the Global Scholars Program. A curriculum student who completes a combination of classwork and activities and maintains a 3.0 will have “Graduated with Global Distinction” on their transcript.
The Global Scholars will be hosting an international film series in the Boyd Library. The series will show a film each third Wednesday at 1pm through the spring semester. The films are as follows:
Jan 18th: Life Is Beautiful
February 15th: Babette’s Feast
March 15th: The Red Balloon – this is a short film only running 35 minutes
April 19th: Jacob the Liar – the 1974 German version
